In April 2007 EMDAD was awarded a three year contract for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of Cathodic Protection for Well Casing in ADCO BAB and Ruwais Fields. This was the largest package out of three fields that ADCO solicited tendering for in 2006.
Cathodic Protection system for the majority of the wells in this project was provided by Solar Photovoltaic (PV) power systems. A solar power system is defined as an operational, independent D.C power source used in a fixed installation. In addition to PV installation Transformer/Rectifier installations were installed where power from the local grid system was available.
Building on this successful experience EMDAD was awarded another EPC Project with ADCO in 2010 for 194 wells in the producing fields of North East BAB (NEB) and South East (ASAB, SHAH, SAHIL, QASAWIRA and MENDER) which is on-going.
In addition to EPC Works, EMDAD’s capabilities and expertise extends to Cathodic Protection Maintenance and Monitoring. In 2010 EMDAD was awarded a contract for the Maintenance and Monitoring of Cathodic Protection Systems for all ADCO Fields.
EMDAD is further enhancing its EPC Works in the field of CP by tendering for projects both onshore and offshore and has the capability and experience of safely executing on time.
